long term contracts by the National Cancer Institute
Alachua,
Florida, September 29, 2006 - Alchem Laboratories Corporation (www.alchem.com) announced that it has been awarded two
long term (five years with possibility of extension to seven years) research and development contracts
by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) valued at approximately $7,650,000 for five years
and $11,000,000 for seven years. One of
the contracts involves the synthesis of small molecules, and the other one the
manufacturing of bulk chemicals and drugs required for preclinical and clinical studies;
these compounds will be experimented by the NCI in preclinical studies and in clinical
experiments on human subjects for the treatment of cancer "We are pleased to receive
these contracts as they consolidate us as one of the main providers for the Government and
reconfirm the reliability and quality of our work by one of the most prestigious
institutes of the National Institutes of Health. The contracts also impart long-term
stability to our organization in the conditions in which contract research and development
is becoming more and more competitive said Emil Pop, Ph.D., founder, president and
CEO of Alchem Laboratories, principal investigator of the contract. Alchem Laboratories, a
custom research and manufacturing organization established in 1996 conducts research and
